For surfers who can already ride a wave and want to get better. Daniel watches what you already do, then builds the session from there, from tightening the fundamentals through to advanced performance surfing.
One coach, one surfer, and a full session of Daniel watching only you.
Maximum 3 surfers, ideal for friends and couples surfing together.
Daniel works out which habits are costing you waves, and those are what you work on.
Multi-Day
Staying in J-Bay for a few days? Book consecutive sessions so each one builds on the last, instead of starting over every time. Helping intermediate and advanced surfers break through is where Daniel does his best work.
For a long weekend. Enough time to fix one thing properly and feel it in the water.
Long enough for video analysis to land: see the habit, drill it, then see it gone.
A full week on a personal progression plan, surfing different spots as the swell moves.
For surfers who want to spend ten days doing nothing else.
Conditions not workable on the day? Your session is rescheduled for a better window.
See Your Surfing
Most surfers have never seen themselves surf. What you feel you are doing on a wave and what the camera shows are rarely the same thing, and it is hard to fix a habit you have never watched.
Local Knowledge
For surfers who can already handle themselves out the back. Daniel reads the swell, wind, tide and crowds, then calls the spot: Kitchen Windows, Magna Tubes, The Point, or Supertubes when it is right for you.

Your Coach
Plenty of people can push you into a wave. Fewer can tell you why you fell off the last one.
Daniel grew up surfing these banks, so he knows which one works on a given wind and tide.
Daniel has been surfing here for over 28 years, so he has seen the mistake you are making many times before.
Daniel trained and qualified as an ISA Level 1 Certified Surf Coach, so there is a method behind what he tells you.
Daniel has coached surfers in Norway as well as here at home.
Group sessions are capped at 3 surfers, so you get real individual attention every time.
From Kitchen Windows to Supertubes, Daniel knows exactly where you should be surfing today.
Wherever you are between your first clean turn and your best surfing, Daniel starts from what you can already do.
I watch you surf before I say anything. Then we work on the habits that are costing you waves, one at a time, until you are catching better ones.

“Daniel is seriously the absolute best!! If you're looking for an amazing surf coach in Jbay look no further. I was so stuck with my technique and losing my confidence, but Dan completely turned things around for me.”

“Dan is the best! I have had my first lessons with Daniel three years ago and had to do a few more sessions with him when I got back to Jbay. Genuinely the best surf instructor in town for both beginners and more intermediate surfers.”
